(3) More Concerns

Unfortunately, we are going in circles. And your rationale is not working to convince me of why English should be used in English mass and why mass times need to be consistent.
And more importantly, why I feel you are not being considerate of English speaking folks.

Here are my complaints about our church as you currently run it.
And I unlike others are prepared to speak my mind and not complain behind the scenes as I believe this is enhancing the issues.

1] We want English to be spoken in English mass
if Korean needs to be used, the 11.30 mass is there
if Korean needs to be used as often as it has then we need another English only mass
We don't want to calculate in %, would you use that as defense if English homilies were given to the 11.30mass?
Why don't we send kids to read in English for 2nd reading as I want my kids to learn public speaking?
No, because we need to be considerate of them as they are Korean speaking. Well same thing for 10am mass, let's be considerate of those that only speak in English.
Don't invite guests and speak in another dialect.

2] Cultural viewpoints - I am not sure why your defense has changed from Italian to Polish?
Here's what is happening and it's not a mystery. There are now more 2nd and 3rd generation Koreans than 1st in US. Meaning as the people are educated here, their choice of language will be English. So when you compare Polish or whatever other Ethnic background you want, if they were not educated here, you need to consider comparisons for the 11.30 1st generation folks. Otherwise, other churches that are established yet hold strong heritage should be modeled after for our 2nd generation folks.
Anyway you want to defend your beliefs on Korean heritage, the actual statistics of people returning after college or after marriage or after kids, the numbers under your helm are dismal. If you think you can attract 2nd generation folks by using korean whenever you feel like during mass in hopes folks will understand that it's due to heritage enriching process would be a far reach.
People in general want to understand what's going on. Perhaps you are missing that as you understand both Korean and English.
If you were invited to the Polish church for mass, would you give the sermon in Korean? well, that's what you allow when you have guest over at the English mass. Meaning you are not being CONSIDERATE for the very people you serve. It's should be given that the homily is in English at the English mass. Also, if you think Korean language is so important, why are out kids going to Korean school elsewhere? Why are the Sunday school held in English?
People laugh at me when I tell them I am fighting for English at English masses.

3] Mass times, if it's only 5x, I will sign that I will not complain about this issue. I state that it's over 5x.
As I have stated, the most important times of the year, we would choose to have English mass than sit next to family members and not understand. I am not sure why you are trying to guide the cultural and family aspects of our parish more so than the spriritual. Take a quick poll for the English speaking, they will all be at gym when the supposed important family masses are going on. I am deeply saddened that you really do not know what's going on at your own church. You are CHASING THE ENGLISH SPEAKING AWAY!

4] The communion class - I will ask Sister for extra assignment - that was not offered nor pass through in the first original meeting & I understand Korean. As previously stated, your false cultural belief has crept in everywhere at church. If I was giving a class to Koreans speaking and I could speak in English, you can bet I would have translation papers on hand. You will have no church once this generation grows up with our current methodology. If you think I am wrong, please do the numbers of how many kids from each YouthGroup class return to our church, we should keep those numbers.

5] WHY AM I COMPLAINING! after all this time at our church, you have yet to show a vision for the future our church with actions.
Where will my kids stand in 10years at our church? should I expect them to feel what I feel today? no place really to stand
priest walks away when I want to tell him for the 30th time that English should be used at the English mass?
Now had you done some creative things such as every week, instead of reading in Korean in English mass, they will practice before the mass then read in the 11.30mass, we would clap for you. Or if any korean is used, we will have translation either in JUBO or on the projector, we are all for it. But for you to ask for us to understand the circumstances because your lack or arrangement is unacceptable to me. Just as at my job, I need to responsible for my actions, I will hold you accountable for your actions, I am not a 1st generation Korean grandmother who will pat your back no matter what you do.

We attend this church hoping to attend English mass, allow my kids to see my family and friends. You notice nowhere in there does Korean heritage come to play, I DO THAT AT MY OWN TIME AND MY OWN HOUSE. If church provides enhancement outside of mass, great if not fine.

You will need to clearly state how complaints or areas of improvement should be presented to you or the church.
You will need to have a better reaction when approached with a complaint in person.
You will need to reign in on your own personal beliefs when it's not related to religion.[each parent will decide how they will incorporate their cultural beliefs and background into the child's current life]

If you state that there are rules of engagement to discuss any of the above topics, I will follow them.

If you want to continue discussing this, I am open to discussing this issue at any Church meeting or even with the Newark Diocese.
As previously stated, I do not pledge my hard earned money to support this current church format.
